Simon Walker is a professional meteorologist for the British Columbia Avalanche and Weather Programs. In 2014 he navigated the Hobie 33 Por Favor to a division win and was recognized with the Navigator’s Award for the most skillful navigation by a division winner. Simon will share the story of his winning year and why he chose an unconventional northerly route despite the unsettled forecasts. He will also discuss his take on the various high resolution forecasts available closer to the coast and how the seasonal hurricane forecast is shaping up for 2022.
